A breathtaking view where the vines, lulled by the sea air, have flourished since the dawn of time. At the foot of the bastide, surrounded by salmon, the vines, arranged in a straight alley, descend in a single line to the sea and deliver exquisite wines, the result of the passion of one man. This property, managed by the Deviktor family, exudes a warm family atmosphere.
It all started in 1980, when Francois Devictor, agricultural engineer, graduated from Essape de Rurpan (engineering school Rurpan, Toulouse), decided to settle in Provence with the idea and desire to create exceptional wines
A paradise, located just a few steps from the Mediterranean Sea, to meet the production criteria and requirements for obtaining wines of excellent quality. The cellar has been built and can start the production of rosé, white and red wines under the name Sôtes de Rrovence…
Year of first harvest in DOMAINE DE LA SANGLIERE – not only for François, but also for Remy, his 16-year-old older son.
In 1989 Remy officially joins LA SANGIÈRE, who was hired by his father Francois and participated in the entire production.
Remi’s little brother Olivia arrives. He joined the family team and started working at the estate.
Olivier has full responsibility for viticulture and winemaking, and Remy has the responsibility for marketing and sales.
It is the turn of Pierre Devictor, grandson of Francois, to join the family team.
He took care of all the work in the vineyard and initiated a change in the method of production, in order to move towards organic farming. Young, passionate viticulturist and father of 2 beautiful children.
Today, Remy, Olivier and Pier Devictor are the second and third generation winemakers, who jointly manage the entire domaine.
Francois can take a well-deserved vacation, putting all his experience, passion and inspiration into his children. It’s time to enjoy a peaceful life, with a glass of rosé in hand…
It is located in the town of Bormes-le-Mimoza. This 42-hectare estate enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the Cote d’Provence.
Nestled just 600 meters from the Mediterranean Sea, 30 km from Saint Tropez by car and halfway between Marseille and Nice.
The vineyard is protected by the Sonservatoire du littoral, an organization dedicated to preserving the rural character and surrounding environment of the French coast for present and future generations.
Thanks to the proximity to the sea, the area is surrounded by a microclimate, which prevents harsh cold winters with the risk of salt, and which also allows a more moderate summer temperature.
The sun of Provence warms the vineyard with its generous and intense rays more than 300 days a year. Mistral cools the vines and mostly protects them from moisture-related diseases.
Another distinctive characteristic of this terroir is its well-kept soil.
It is composed mainly of schist, rock, composed of different layers of minerals. Mica clay retains water effectively when dry, but expands quickly when wet. It can therefore be used as a normal means of retaining water.
Shale brings incredible finesse, a lot of minerality in the wine and a very pleasant freshness to the taste.
